3 samples from almost every project by my students from the VCU Summer Intensive. I realize it is a lot of work. (6 hours every day, 5 days a week, for 3 weeks) It felt like I taught an entire year of design in three weeks. I'm very proud of them.

Design Therapy: How to Fund and Launch Self-Initiated Projects
Self-initiated projects can function as therapy in a field that doesn't always meet the creative needs of a designer. This next coffee talk will walk you through the creative process and funding of a project by speaker, Bizhan Khodabandeh. He will discuss the necessity of self-initiated projects for one's sanity as well as his experiences with the funding platform Kickstarter.
Lucky Bird Identity
Above is a identity that I developed for Lucky Bird Tattoo using a typeface called Cream Puff. I had to modify parts of the type and fix the kerning. I've noticed that many display scripts tend to have inconsistencies in their strokes as well as kerning that isn't quite right. The most major change was the original typeface's "r" to a more cursive "r." Below is an image pointing out these inconsistencies.
