This was for a post card design for the New York theater company, Ripe Time. It is for a multimedia piece based on Gertrude Stein's children's book "The World Is Round." The book is a rite of passage story about a nine-year-old girl who overcomes many obstacles while she climbs up a mountain. My point of departure were several artists who use both 2d and 3d elements in their work. The background is a photograph of a miniature theatrical set that I created using public domain engravings. I then incorporated old engravings of constellations and a doll that my wife happen to get in the mail the day that I started this project.
