Next three pages of OUTDOOR | INDOOR
Below are the next 3 pages of an experiment that will eventually be
translated as an "infinite canvas." To keep my interest I've been
attempting to do 5 pages at a time. I hope to have some more soon. (Click
images to enlarge.) The rest can be seen here.

Movie/show Posters
I made this posters inspired by the aesthetics of Reza Abedini and Adam Juresko. Tried to make their screen-print looking collage approach my own. These were made for X-mas gifts. Don't worry, I don't feel confident sending the framed works to them, so they know what they are getting already. I also used two icons from Scott Lewis' iconify.it.

Next four bikes for my Richmond bike poster
The next completed four bikes for my 36"X48" poster on Richmond bikes. Again, since 36" X 48" posters can be expensive to print ... so I decided to offer up incentives for participants to donate money for my initial print costs (I hope to print more of the posters at a smaller scale).
Please email all photos to bizhan[at]mendedarrow.com You may email me your photo for the project without a donation. You will still be a part of the project. You just won't get anything, but my gratitude.
For an accurate representation, photos must be profile as pictured below.
If you send $10, I will email you a high res image of your bike at 4" X 6".
If you send $20, I will email you the high res image and mail a printed 4" X 6" post card.
If you send $30, you will get all of the above and you're awesome.

Call for Photos for a Bike Poster
I am working on a minimalist-ish poster of Richmond, VA bicycles. As of now, I expect them to be displayed in a grid with the cyclists name and age under it. The final product will be 36" X 48". The poster is for an exhibition at Virginia Commonwealth University's MoB space.
MoB + Storefront operates on the principle that good design makes a healthier city where citizens participate more fully in their environment, their government and their culture.

Ripe Time
This was for a post card design for the New York theater company, Ripe Time. It is for a multimedia piece based on Gertrude Stein's children's book "The World Is Round." The book is a rite of passage story about a nine-year-old girl who overcomes many obstacles while she climbs up a mountain. My point of departure were several artists who use both 2d and 3d elements in their work. The background is a photograph of a miniature theatrical set that I created using public domain engravings. I then incorporated old engravings of constellations and a doll that my wife happen to get in the mail the day that I started this project.
Below is more info taken from Ripe Time's website:
The World Is Round

Last Pig Mammoth Ilustrations
These are the last of the "Uh, Oh Here Come The Pig Mammoths" illustrations. The project is just about wrapped up. I'll post photos of the final album and shirt. I revisited the Pig Mammoth theme song illustration. For those of you who are just tuning in...
The project is for an album by Todd Matthews. I am did an illustration for each song. The three you see are of an escape on flying stand up basses, the first entrance of the Pig Mammoths and the main character waking up from a dream. The music corresponds tells a story about Todd's brother, Chad, falling asleep to awake in a reptilian world only to see Todd kidnapped by the "Pig Mammoths." The Pig Mammoths are evil creatures who hoard instruments. The rest of the story/album describes Chad's adventures in search of his brother through a new world with several interesting and horrifying creatures.

the design, the art, letters, and color on Bizhan Khodabandeh's Little
Black Fish all stood out to me immediately as something really worth
spending time with. This is his first comic I am told. I am impressed.
It is a beautiful story. Anyone with a love of comics would do well to
pay attention."

To give you a short description of the story ... It is about a fish who unforgivably questions authority and is determined to learn through her own experiences. In the book, the little black fish embarks on a right of passage journey to find whether or not her friends' stories about the sea are true. During her travels, she is confronted by various animals who try to persuade her from continuing and some who threaten her very life. The story provides an important example of one's determination in seeking the truth.

Azadeh The Destroyer (attempt at a 24 Hour Comic)
Below are sample pages of a comic that started as a 24 Hour Comic - a challenge to finish writing and illustrating a 24 page comic in 24 hours. By page 3, the exhaustion of 2 prior all-nighters set in. After page 10, I took a nap and finished penciling 11-14 before time was up. The inks and grey tones were completed after the 24 hour time period. You can download the full comic here. Enjoy.
